I first began attending Bridgeham Clinic several years ago on the recommendation of my pilates teacher. I had an unstable sacroilliac joint and exercise alone was not keeping it in place. I had seen several osteopaths and chiropractors over the years but none of them had offered the combination of treatment and specific exercises. Over time, with visits to Trevor and following the exercises he gave me, combined with regular pilates classes, it stabilised and I would see Trevor every few months just to make sure all was well.
Trevor is always very positive, even when he is twisting your limbs into seemingly impossible positions, and has a wicked sense of humour which can make you laugh even on days when you feel you will never be free of pain!
I recently had a problem with a joint in my lower back which kept slipping out of place, Trevor suggested I see Jo for some 1:1 pilates sessions, and these made all the difference as they focused my exercises on the problem area. These sessions empowered me with some feeling of control over the pain and doing the exercises on a daily basis has made a huge difference. I am now back to having maintenance sessions.
For me, the combination of osteopathy and pilates mean that I am playing a part in my own recovery and actively working with Trevor to resolve the problem.
