On initial consultation the osteopath will take a full case history focussing on the presenting complaint, as well as medical history details. Appropriate clinical diagnostic tests are used in formally diagnosing the problem, alongside evaluation of biomechanical posture, tissue tone, spine and joint mobility etc. A treatment plan is formulated to include not just the relief of painful symptoms but identifying and addressing the underlying cause.
